Reading a picture book can get you right into the spirit of
Christmas.
One that my family have always loved and we have poured over through
the years, is the wordless story: A small miracle by Peter Collington. Children
and adults alike enjoy carefully examining the beautiful illustrations to feel
the heart of this story – truly capturing the meaning of Christmas.
And one with a uniquely New Zealand flavour: The Christmas Caravan
by Jennifer Beck. Few Christmas books capture Christmas celebrated in the
summer and this one is delightfully non-commercial
You can’t beat a Snoopy classic to have you skipping around
the Christmas tree and
Clement C Moore’s wonderful poetry in T’was the night before Christmas is a must on Christmas
Eve.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and lots of books in your
Christmas stocking
